Stoneface were absolutely delighted to follow up their recent Headliner show at the Glasgow Cathouse with their mighty mates from south of the border; Saints of Arcadia, by supporting their rock n roll buddies at the Bungalow in Paisley the following month. Its always raucous when these two bands get together as they have really struck up a great bond and they both love to let rip in their own inimitable style whenever they play a show together.
The original opening act for this gig was due to be the fast rising Anchor Lane, however, a competing commitment for their drummer meant they had to pull out late in the day. This was a shame as the lads in Stoneface had checked them out online and were keen to see them in the flesh as they were very impressed by what they had heard. Stoneface pride themselves on always trying to play alongside the best bands on the scene and they are certain that Anchor Lane have the potential to make a big splash on the scene. Hopefully Stoneface will get a chance to share a stage with them at some point down the road.
They were ultimately to be replaced by The Sunny Devils who opened proceedings. Anyone who caught these guys certainly would not be disappointed as they were absolutely 'bang on'. For a band offering to stand in at short notice they certainly turned in a very polished performance and made a big impression on all who saw them. Definitely a band with a future they have a very slick alt rock/funk vibe and provide great entertainment in a cool and understated fashion. We are big fans already - check em out!
Next up was Stoneface with their usual 'everything louder than everything else' approach (thanks to the late and lamented Mr Kilmeister for that famous quote and all round general inspiration). Straight ahead, full on, hard, fast, loud and sweaty...yeah we think that about hit the spot! Another enjoyable night at the Bungalow. Paisley is starting to grow on the guys, maybe some penicillin will cure that though!
Closing out the event were the stratospherically talented, shredding, thunderous, yet very nice god like geniuses that are Saints of Arcadia.
Stoneface never tire of watching and listening to these guys. They also never really like going on after them either - they are SOOOOOO Good! Even with a man down and Nick suffering a sore throat they were quite literally superb. Stoneface love em and think that you should too. So if you haven't checked out Saints of Arcadia either live or in recorded format yet then we suggest its time to get that lobotomy reversed, get your finger out and do it!
